The Royal House of Bagrationi (Bagratid Dynasty)



The Royal House of Georgia is one of the oldest living Royal Houses in existence dating back to the year 813 AD. It also asserts descent from the biblical King David and stems a portion of its authority from this. It provides a myriad of monarchs in history such as its founder Tavadi Ashot the Great, King Bagrat III the Unifier, and Queen Tamar the Great. 

However its hegemony came to an end when Tsar Paul I of Russia annexed the Kingdom of Georgia after George XII died in 1800. Soon the dynasty was expatriated to Russia where members became renowned generals and courtiers such as the late King's sons David and Bagrat. Today there is a strong movement that advocates the return of the Royal House with a proportion of nearly 54% but was originally divided between the two branches below but unified when the Mukhrano claimant married the daughter of the Gruzinsky claimant and sired an heir, Prince Giorgi Bagrationi (9/27/2011). 

The dynasty is currently divided into two branches: The Bagration-Mukhrani headed by Prince David Bagrationi Mukhrani (6/24/1976) & The Bagration-Gruzinsky headed by Prince Nugzar Petres dze Bagration-Gruzinsky (8/25/1950) respectively.

The Royal House of Bagration is behind antiquity to the Imperial House of Yamato, the sovereign dynasty of Japan which is founded in 660 BC but is attested by convoluted modern historians to have instead been founded in 539 AD.
